We are continuing our popular staff profile series with a look at Linda Duffy!
-What do you do on campus?
I am an instructor in the Communication Skills Department, teaching classes in the Associate of Science in Liberal Arts (ASLA) program. Additionally, I coordinate Western’s study abroad options and serve as the advisor for Phi Theta Kappa.
-Where is your favorite place at Western?
I love to be wherever there is learning or problem-solving happening! On any given day my favorite place might be in a classroom, in my office for a student conference, or in a meeting with my amazing colleagues.
-What are you hobbies?
Outside of teaching, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, playing tennis, reading, and traveling.
-Advice for students?
My advice for students is to soak up as much of the college experience as possible. Academic goals should drive students, but there is so much happening outside of the classroom that can enhance learning. I encourage students to become involved in the Western community by joining a student club, volunteering with other students, or attending campus events.
Thank you, Linda!
