Students from Western’s Phi Theta Kappa honor society were handing out lunches to students on Wednesday, Jan. 29 at the Learning Commons.
The event was part of Western’s new Cav Pack program. The program was designed by the student group, offering a simple bagged lunch to students during the first few weeks of classes. Students came up with the idea following a conversation with Western President Roger Stanford.
The Cav Pack program is part of a larger Poverty Informed Practice initiative on campus, designed to provide resources like food to students to help them succeed in class.
The Cav Pack program continues through the first several weeks of the term. Future dates include February 3-5, and 10-12.
