Western is happy to announce that the remodeling of the Welcome Center and Student Success Center (formerly the Academic Resource Center) is nearly complete! The final steps include moving currently displaced service areas into their new spaces. The moves will take place Monday, Aug. 26 through Wednesday, Aug. 28.
Serving students will remain our priority throughout the process, but some closures and adjustments will be required as specific departments relocate:
Monday, Aug. 26
Military Connected Services; Career Services; Equity, Inclusion, and Community Engagement; and Access Services departments will be closed.
All other remaining services, including Career Coaches, Cashier’s Office, and Financial Aid will remain open in their temporary locations in the Business Education Center (405 8th St. N.). The Assessment Center, Learner Support and Transition, and Counseling services will remain open inside the Coleman Center (304 6th St. N.).
Tuesday, Aug. 27
Due to staff meetings, all Western Technical College locations will be closed to the public all day.
Wednesday, Aug. 28
The majority of our student services will be open and available inside the Student Success Center with the following exceptions:
- Counseling services will remain closed. It will reopen Thursday, Aug. 29 in its new space on the second floor of the Student Success Center. Those with appointments will check in at the Learning Commons.
- The Assessment Center will be open on August 28 for Pearson VUE testing only. It will reopen for Accuplacer testing at 9:00 a.m. on August 29 in Coleman Center, Room 126
