Western Technical College’s volleyball team was in the middle of conference play this weekend, playing a series of games at home.
On Friday, Sept. 21, the Cavaliers lost to Ridgewater in three sets, 25-23, 25-12, 25-21. Despite a close first set, Western wasn’t able to come back in the second or third sets. McKenna Nehring led the team with seven kills. Katie Olson led with 13 digs.
On Saturday, Sept. 22, Western also lost to Minnesota State Fergus-Falls in four sets, 25-23, 23-25, 25-15, 25-18. The Cavaliers played strong in both the first and second sets, but couldn’t keep up as the match went on. No stats were provided for Western players.
The pair of loses put the Cavaliers at 1-5 in conference, and 2-5 overall. They next play at Milwaukee Area Technical College in a non-conference game this evening (Monday) at 7:00 p.m.
