Western’s baseball team began the season in Oklahoma Wednesday.
The Cavaliers lost both games to Northern Oklahoma College-Enid as part of a doubleheader, 10-0 and 11-0, both in five innings. In the first game, Western left four runners on base on only one hit. Noah Flock (0-1) pitched the loss with ten hits and nine earned runs on three innings of work. Northern Oklahoma College-Enid scored on ten hits, putting up four runs in both the second and third innings.
In the second game, Western’s offence put up two hits. Drew Elvik (0-1) picked up the loss with seven hits and four earned runs in four innings. The game was close until the fifth inning, where Northern Oklahoma put up six runs to end the game.
Western falls to 0-2 on the season. They next play Thursday afternoon against Northern Oklahoma College-Enid at 2:00 p.m.
