Athletics Update 2-8


Western’s basketball teams have just a few games left before the end of the regular season.

The men’s team lost to Rochester CTC 82-56 last night at home. Western trailed by 16 at the half and couldn’t erase the gap in the second half. Leading the Cavaliers was Kadar Farah with 23 points and 10 rebounds. With only five games until the end of the season, the Cavaliers are 6-16 overall and 3-6 in conference. They next play Minnesota West at home on Saturday. Tip-off is at 2:00 p.m.

The women’s team also lost to Rochester CTC 78-43 last night. Western trailed by 11 after the first quarter and was outscored the entire game. Kerrigan Lyga, who was named co-player-of-the-week last week, lead the Cavaliers with nine points and eight rebounds. Western is 5-15 overall and 4-5 in conference, with five games remaining. They also play Minnesota West at home Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
