Athletics Update: 2-27

Western’s men’s basketball team played their final game of the season last weekend.

The Cavaliers lost to Riverland CC 92-85 at home on Saturday. It was a tight game throughout, with Western only trailing by two into the half, but they couldn’t pull out the victory. Five Western players were in double figures, with Joshua Brownlee leading the way with 19 points. The loss put the Cavaliers final record for the season at 7-20 overall and 4-10 in conference play.

Due to roster limits, the women’s team wasn’t able to compete Saturday. They finished with a record of 7-18 overall and 6-8 in conference.

Both teams failed to make the conference playoffs this season, but it doesn’t take away how hard each team played. Congratulations to both teams for a great season!
