Western’s Brent Thill Named National Coach-Of-The-Year

Athletics

Western’s women’s basketball head coach Brent Thill was named National Coach-of-the-Year this week by the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA).

The first year coach led the Cavaliers to their first national championship in school history by defeating conference rival Northland 69-60 in the NJCAA Division III National Championship last month in Rockford, Ill. This was Western’s first national championship in any sport in school history.

“It’s a blessing and honor to be named ‘NJCAA Women’s Coach of the Year.’  The challenges that we overcame in the tournament, especially in the second half of the Championship game, make this seem like a movie script.  A huge thank you to my wife Nicole, and to our Athletic Director Dave Fish for letting me do what I love.”

Congratulations, Coach Thill!
