Western Technical College and various local employers teamed up to host a Construction and Apprenticeship Career Fair on Thursday, Feb. 13 at the Lunda Center.
Nineteen employers, including Brickl Bros, Schneider Heating & Air Conditioning, and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW 14) were on hand to speak with students about construction and apprenticeship opportunities. In addition, interested individuals were able to connect with local unions and learn more about the process to become an apprentice.
“There are great careers in the construction industry including opportunities to secure apprenticeships where you can earn while you learn,” said Barb Kelsey, manager for Career Services at Western. “This event will allow individuals to meet with employers throughout the region looking to hire roofers, carpenters, HVAC technicians, welders, mechanical designers, equipment operators, general laborers, office support and other positions related to the construction industry.”
Western also had faculty on hand to speak about the various training programs offered within the construction and trades industry.
Thank you to all who attended!
