Western Technical College announced today the hiring of Brent Thill as the next head coach of the Western Cavaliers women’s basketball team.

Thill brings several years of assistant coaching experience. His most recent stop includes a role as an assistant volunteer scouting coach for the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point’s men’s basketball team. Prior to this, Thill was an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator for the men’s basketball team at Lindenwood University in Belleville, Ill.., as well as stops at Winona State University and the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.

Thill takes over for Chad Dull, who left Western to become the Vice President of Academics at Minnesota State College Southeast in Winona. The women’s basketball team last year posted a 21-7 record overall and 12-0 in conference, making a run to the NJCAA National Championship semifinals in Pennsylvania.

“Thill brings a ton of coaching experience to this position,” said Western Athletic Director Dave Fish. “He’s taking over a very successful program, and we have no doubt his previous experience will help lead this team in the future.”
