Western Technical College’s campus food pantry, the Cavalier Cupboard, has recently moved locations on campus and expanded its hours to meet growing demand.
The Cupboard, which was previously located in Western’s Integrated Technology Center, is now located in room 213 inside Western’s Learning Commons on the second floor of the newly remodeled Student Success Center, 400 7th St. N., La Crosse.
New this year, the Cupboard’s hours reflect those of Western’s Learning Commons, providing 26 hours of access each week, an increase of 22 hours from a year ago. Students will now be provided access via their student ID, rather than signing in before each use, following the completion of a short form.
“As our Cavalier Cupboard report this spring indicated, use of the Cupboard has increased over the last several years,” said Kari Reyburn, director of Equity, Inclusion, and Community Engagement at Western. “By providing greater access in a more central location, we hope to continue to bring the issue of college hunger to light.”
