Western’s Student Government hosted, “Be The Change In A Messed Up World With Rob Greenfield,” on Monday, Sept. 9 at the Lunda Center.
Greenfield is an adventurer and activist who embarks on extreme adventures and activism campaigns to bring attention to important global issues and inspire change. He has dived into thousands of dumpsters to raise awareness about the food system, cycled across the USA three times on a bamboo bicycle, wore all of his trash for a month to show how much garbage the average Westerner creates, and lived off the grid in a tiny house demonstrating sustainable living systems. He is currently growing and foraging 100% of his food for a year and is currently 10 months into the project.
During the event, Greenfield shared these adventures and the lessons he’s learned on how we can all be the change we wish to see, even in the difficult times that we live in. The event was free and open to the public.
