We have another staff profile as we wind down for the fall term. Today, we feature Lori Olson.
-What do you do on campus?
I serve as the Program Chair and Instructor for the Human Resource Management Program and I am also co-adviser for the Western Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) Chapter.
-Where is your favorite place at Western?
My favorite place at Western is the classroom…..I truly enjoy being a small piece of the puzzle that leads our students to more satisfying and better paying positions as a result of their time at Western. Having our students succeed is a source of great pride for me.
-What are your hobbies?
In the summer I co-manage one golf league and (just) play in another. I love to travel and most recently went to Ireland in August. While traveling I also enjoy taking photographs – stop by my office if you’d like to see some of my artwork!
-Advice for students?
My advice for students is to avoid procrastination. You will experience less stress when you plan ahead, and don’t wait until the last minute. The more you can practice this, the better off you’ll perform and the better you’ll feel….try it!
Thank you, Lori!
