Western’s men’s basketball team was busy over the Thanksgiving weekend with a pair of non conference games.
The Cavaliers defeated UW-Sheybogan 84-63 on Saturday, Nov. 24. Western was in control for most of the game, leading 40-23 at halftime. Joshua Brownlee led the team with 26 points, 15 of which came from three-point range. Justen Kidd also provided with 11 points and 6 assists.
Western then defeated UW-Fox Valley 99-62 on Sunday, Nov. 25. The Cavaliers were actually down by one at the half, but came storming back to score 62 points in the second half. Brownlee once again led Western scorers with 25 points. Andrew Scott had a double-double, leading the team with 12 rebounds, along with 13 points.
The pair of victories puts the Cavaliers at 3-1 for the season. They next play against Itasca CC at home on Friday, Nov. 30 at 7:30 p.m.
The women’s squad will play at UW-Richland on Wednesday, Nov. 28 at 5:00 p.m.
