Happy Tuesday! We have another social profile. Today, we feature Nick Persinger!
-What is your program, and why did you choose it?
I am in the online Hospitality Management program at Western Technical College.
-Who has been your favorite instructor at Western?
Roxanne Smothers is probably my favourite instructor — she’s always so helpful and breaks down difficult concepts in a way that really makes the educational process seem useful.
-What do you like about Western?
Western offers me the ability to work on assignments on my own schedule. I am a flight attendant for Air Wisconsin Airlines, and I work crazy hours, going in and out of hotels and airports on a daily basis. Being able to work on my homework, say, on a sit in Portland, or in a hotel room in Birmingham, allows me to become a better version of myself in more ways than just my job.
-Future career goals?
I would like to use this degree to attain a purser role on bigger aircraft for now, but having worked in hotels too, I could see myself going into a hotel management position when the time is right.
-Advice for future students?
Don’t let fear take over your ability to be a better you. I didn’t want to go to school at first, but I found out only later that my idea of school didn’t have to be what I thought it was. The sky is the limit.
