Western Technical College’s Collegiate Distributive Education Club of America (DECA) chapter sent eight competitors to the Wisconsin State Career Leadership Conference held recently in Delevan, Wis.
Representing Western were Monica Wherry, Marcus Rackow, Kyrsten Stockus, Charles Kolkind, Dylan Flaskrud, Nicholas Carlson, Austin Hass, and Bryce Schiffman. Each competition involves one of sixteen different business categories, including accounting, hotel and lodging, and event planning. Stockus won first place in the restaurant and food service competition. She also successfully ran for the Wisconsin Collegiate DECA president.
Every member of Western’s team earned the right to compete in the International Career Development Conference (ICDC), which will be held in Washington D.C., later this month.
