Cashton Middle School students got a taste of what technical careers are like at an event at Western Technical College last Thursday.
Approximately 30 eighth grade students participated in the Technical Careers Challenge, put on by the Junior Achievement of Wisconsin in the Coulee Region. Students were divided into career clusters, such as architectural technology, fire protection, and early childhood education. Western faculty then facilitate a friendly competition to plan, manufacture, design, or repair products within a particular technical career.
Students were judged not only on technical aspects, but teamwork and communication.
From all accounts, everyone had a great time!
