Western Celebrates Dental Assistant Recognition Week

Throughout the week of March 5-9, Western celebrated Dental Assistant Recognition Week, an opportunity to honor all those in the profession for all the work they do in our community. See below for highlights!

We first highlight Kyle Bethauser, an alumni for the DA program at Western.

-Where are you currently working?

I currently work at Coulee Family Dental is La Crosse.

-What do you enjoy most about your job?

What I love most about being a Dental Assistant is being able to help people.

-What drew you to Western’s Dental Assistant program?

I was drawn to the Dental Assistant program because of the pleasant work environment.

-Why should others consider a Dental Assistant career?

Other students should consider the Dental Assistant program because it opens up great opportunities for great careers. 

Our next profile comes from Lindsey Soper.

-Where are you currently working?

I currently work at Dental Clinic of Onalaska.

-What do you enjoy the most about your job?

The thing I love most about my job is being able to form relationships with the patients and making them feel comfortable in the dental chair.

-What drew you to the Dental Assistant program at Western?

I grew up in this area and heard Western Technical College had a great Dental Assistant program so I decided to go there. (It is awesome!)

-Why should others consider a dental assistant career? 

Being a dental assistant is very rewarding! It’s a wonderful feeling to help people have beautiful smiles! 

Last month, DA students also had the opportunity to speak with elementary students around the area about dental health. It has been a busy month helping those in the community!
