Western’s basketball teams are heading down the final stretch of the season.

The women’s team defeated Anoka-Ramsey CC last Saturday in Coon Rapids. Once again, Kerrigan Lyga lead the team with 22 points and nine rebounds. Lexy Schroeder also contributed with 14 points. The Cavaliers lead throughout, outscoring Anoka-Ramsey in each quarter. With the win, the Cavaliers have won four out of their last five games, improving to 5-14 overall and 4-4 in conference. They next play at home against Rochester CTC at 5:30 p.m.

The men’s team lost to Anoka-Ramsey CC 84-63 on Saturday. The Cavaliers trailed by 14 at the half, and couldn’t come back. Joshua Brownlee lead the Cavaliers with 26 points. The loss puts Western at 6-15 overall and 3-5 in conference. They also play at home against Rochester CTC at 7:30 p.m.
