The final week of the season is here for the Western’s men’s and women’s teams.

The men’s squad defeated Ridgewater Wednesday evening at home 87-76. Western took a 20 point lead into the half and held on in the second for the victory. Western was lead by Joshua Brownlee with 24 points. Henry Berry also had 22 points and 10 rebounds in the victory. With the win, Western movers to 7-19 overall and 4-9 in conference. Their final game is against Riverland CC at home Saturday at 3:00 p.m.

The women’s team lost a close game to Ridgewater Wednesday 51-48. Western actually led by four at the end of the third, but was outscored 22-15 in the final quarter. The loss puts the team at 7-18 overall and 6-8 in conference. Due to roster concerns, Western will not play their final game against Riverland CC Saturday.

While both teams played tough this season, neither team will qualify for the conference playoffs this year. For more information, head to www.mcacsports.org.
