Just a few games remain for the Western men’s and women’s basketball teams.
Last night, Western’s women’s team lost to Minnesota State Fergus-Falls 72-59. The Cavaliers were only trailing by four at the end of the first quarter, but couldn’t come back after a 38-25 score at the half. Lexy Schroeder lead the team with ten points, while Kerrigan Lyga put up nine points and seven rebounds. With just three games remaining, Western falls to 5-17 overall and 4-7 in conference. The remaining games are at home, with the next game on Saturday against St. Cloud Technical CC at 1:00 p.m.
The men’s team also lost to Minnesota State Fergus-Falls 70-56. Western trailed by seven at the break, and couldn’t come back from the deficit. Joshua Brownlee lead the Cavaliers with 21 points, while Henry Berry had eight rebounds. The loss puts the team at 6-18 overall and 3-8 in conference. They also play St. Cloud Technical CC at home on Saturday at 3:00 p.m.
